Let’s talk about the heart from the perspective of caring for our hearts physically as well as caring for and listening to our hearts energetically and emotionally. Number one, do we have the heart for something? Do we have the courage or the passion enough to do something near and dear to us?
These are important questions to ask ourselves. Often, we have an idea or a desire and we may not have the courage to go and do it or make it happen……yet. Hopefully, as we gain more confidence in ourselves and we are able to work through and shed old ideas of ourselves, we can make our desires happen. It is important that we stay present to what we are capable of at this current time and not force ourselves to do something beyond our capacity, or the work we put in most probably will not pan out for us.
Secondly, being in and coming from our hearts and our passions and our bodies instead of being stuck just in our minds, makes us feel good in general, feel good about ourselves, and usually has a good outcome. Following what we are passionate about, even when it may look impossible or seem overwhelming, allows us to create the kind of life that makes us happy. Life can be hard enough. Feeling joy and happiness makes all the challenging and difficult times worthwhile.
Caring for our hearts physically is also important. This means breathing deeply, making time to exercise, eating more healthily instead of relying mostly on fast foods, sweets and fried foods. It also means taking time to check in with ourselves and how we are feeling in our bodies as well. Do we feel short of breath? Can we breathe deeply or not? Do my clothes still fit the way I feel best? How does this food feel in my body; does it make me feel bloated or gassy or uncomfortable? Am I eating enough fresh and organic fruits and vegetables? Am I staying hydrated by drinking enough fresh water and even sometimes taking electrolytes and minerals to replenish ourselves?
Of course, sometimes things just happen no matter how we care for ourselves. Stay the course as that is also helpful.
